Eder family

Wilhelm Eder GmbH is a family business with tradition. Already in 1786, the company’s forefather and name-giver Wilhelm Eder traded goods for the agricultural trade and viticulture in Bad Dürkheim, Palatinate. Today, the areas of responsibility are divided, so that the cooperating family members can contribute to the common success according to their individual strenghts. Today’s Wilhelm Eder GmbH was founded in 1980.
Markus Eder, managing director for the operative part and responsible for the company strategy, passed a business management diploma. As can be seen from the languages he chose for his diploma – English, French and Spanish – his sights were set more on the distant future and less on the tranquility of his father’s business. So it was rather a coincidence (we mean: a lucky one) that he first became enthusiastic about barrels and especially trading them.
Therefore, the well-established name remained, but the company itself underwent a consistent reorientation after Markus took over. The reorganization was followed first by the expansion, we are meanwhile and still in the phase of continuous growth, of constant further development.
Prototypical here for all are Markus’ eagerness, dedication and broad horizon. He does not only look beyond the well known “edge of his nose”, but also makes his own picture of developments to be expected. Everyone who knows him will be able to confirm that he has chosen “the big picture” as his task.
The second managing director, Nicholas Eder, also a business graduate, is responsible for the entire organization and quality assurance. Known in his younger years as a passionate and successful rider, it is not only in one respect his nature to hold the reins, gladly loose, but, one thinks of it, quite short in a pinch.
Markus’ wife Ute Eder has been with the company for about 15 years. As an experienced businesswoman, she is responsible for purchasing, human resources and other organizational areas. She is particularly focused on environmental protection and sustainability. Privately, she shares her enthusiasm for horses with brother-in-law Nicholas and her daughter Sibylle Eder (who is studying political science and is currently not suspected of seeing her professional future in the family business).
Jonas Eder, last but not least, the son of Ute and Markus, on the other hand, is now in the company. The 26-year-old is a trained cooper and studied wood technology! He combines skill, craftsmanship and academic expertise in the youngest family generation and has also been a permanent member of the company since last year.
We should also mention the naturalized employee part-time, family and office dog Cooper (in German: Küfer).

See you,

Anja Getto
