Sales team at the ProWein Düsseldorf
After a long Corona break, the time has finally come again: most of the trade fairs are taking place! Among others the ProWein Tradefair in Düsseldorf. Of course, we from the sales team don’t miss it.
ProWein here we come!
At 4:00 a.m. in the morning, Ralf Messing, Helmut Keul and I, Sarah Fent, set off in the direction of Düsseldorf. Before going to the exhibition center, we have to make a short stop at the hotel, but then it is time to be there at 09:00 for the opening of the fair.
ProWein is an international trade fair for wine and spirits that takes place once a year. The last time the fair was held was in 2019, as it was cancelled in 2021 and 2021 due to corona. The fair lasts three days and this year is open only to trade visitors. In 2019, more than 61,000 visitors from 142 countries attended the show, which is considered the leading trade fair for the international industry.
Arriving at ProWein in the morning, it was particularly important for me to first get an overview of the fair, because unlike my colleagues, this is my first time at ProWein. You don’t see an event of this size every day, so I need an overview of the various halls. For example, there are several halls dedicated to different countries such as Portugal, France, Germany and Austria. But there is also the hall with the motto “same but different”, where exhibitors on the subject of craft beer, spirits and cider present their brands and products. There is also a champagne lounge, as well as culinary catering of various kinds. Quite a lot, isn’t it? That’s why not only one day at the fair is enough for us, but we pay a visit to the fair on all three days of the event.
Wine around the world
To get used to the fair, we start our day in Hall 7, the hall with the craft drinks. In this hall, you don’t even know where to look first, because there is something different to see everywhere. This hall is just bursting with creativity and innovation. After we have all looked at Hall 7 together, everyone devotes themselves to their sales area. The variety of wines at Prowein is almost endless. In just one day, visitors can experience a culinary wine world tour. From Greece to Portugal, from Canada to Chile. All are represented there with their wines and offer visitors only the best from their region to taste. Of course, many of our customers will also be there and you can taste wine that has been aged in Eder barrels.
When ProWein is, the wine world moves a little closer together, for good conversations, good business and of course especially good wine.
