German oaks for wooden barrels
What do our native oaks from the low mountain ranges have in common with Napoleon, Goethe and Humboldt?
Correct, they are all the same age, but these oaks only mature nowadays and are carefully harvested to make them into wooden barrels, among other things.
The applied fire makes them gentle to Burgundies, strong to Merlot and Cabernet, and they pack a punch for whisky.
Fine-grained, they are often grown on red limestone on the ridge of mountains of our low mountain ranges. They are carefully felled according to the sustainability criteria of Naturland or PEFC.
The Palatinate Forest, Spessart or the Swabian Alb offer high-quality oaks that the world envies us for, which we then carefully process in our sawmill into staves for barrels from 55 l to 10,000 l, and let them dry slowly in the open air, exposed to the elements.
Look forward to long-lasting perfect oak wood in the shape of a barrel!
see you,
