Moscatel barrels
Moscatel sherry is a special if very rare type of sherry, grown on poor sandy soils around the city of Jerez in Spain, this grape accounts for only 3% of total sherry production.
Moscatel is the sweetest sherry grape and type, drunk and enjoyed as a dessert wine. With a sugar content of almost 500 grams per liter of must remaining after the grapes are dried, this wine is pressed as raisins. Moscatel or in German Muskatel or Muskateller is considered one of the oldest grape species and variatal of the world.
On the palate, the wine is complex, sweet, floral and offers light citrus notes on the finish. Deep yellow to brownish notes in the glass, this sherry is also visually special.
Again and again we succeed in our www.faesser-shop.de, the www.barrel-shop.de and the www.tonneau-boutique.fr to offer such rarities as these freshly emptied barrels. Not sulfurized and preserved we recommend the occupancy and transport of these valuable barrels in the cold or cool season.
In the offered Moscatel barrels sherry stored after pre-fermentation in large oak vats up to 8 years.

See you,
