Article creation in the barrel-shop.com
On 05.02.20 a mail of my boss Markus Eder reaches me. We have cellared out several large casks at a cooperative near the Swiss border.
Ankunft
The staves of the large casks are well preserved and very suitable for furniture making. The original casks were stored for decades in dark, damp wine cellars. Each wine barrel and thus each barrel stave tells its own story, which is reflected under different colors. Hardly any other accessory radiates more authenticity than a used stave.
My job:
To put these staves technically clean and emotionally appealing to the sales item in our online shop. We had staves for sale before, but the implementation was not optimal.
In our barrel carpentry we also produced great pieces of furniture from barrel staves so far. You can do great things with them. Starting with small pieces of furniture, such as candle holders, lamps, breakfast plates, clocks, bottle stands, birdhouses, tables, benches etc. There are no limits to the imagination.
Overview
First of all I get an overview of the different sizes of the staves. This was not so easy, because the aftermath of hurricane Sabine was still noticeable.
I start with the large staves, these have lengths between 2 m and 2.5 m and the stave thickness is 10 cm and the width varies between 10 and 20 cm. I think about a product description.
Here‘s the result:
“Original staves from large barrels, in different sizes and looks. The staves are suitable very beautifully as a decorative eye-catcher or for do-it-yourselfers to build their own furniture. There are no limits to creativity. The original barrels were stored for decades in dark, damp wine cellars. Each wine barrel and thus each barrel stave tells its own story, which is reflected under different colors. Hardly any other accessory radiates more authenticity than a used stave.
Hint: No stave is like the other, each one is unique. The photos are therefore sample pictures. The articles may show traces of use such as rust, bumps, cracks and scratches. The goods cannot be exchanged.”
Since our shop is set up in three languages, I request the corresponding translations from Markus Eder.
Pictures
I have already taken the first product photos. But they are very sober (Picture above).
Here, more emotional photos must be taken in any case.
Due to the long, slim shape of the staves it is not easy to take appealing photos.
Here are more results:
We also have smaller barrel staves from 225 or 228 l barrique barrels, like staves from 190 l rum, bourbon and single malt barrels, from 250 l sherry barrels and 500 l whisky pipes.
